Its unique ComfortPulse™ settings deliver short, high-power cutting pulses with longer intervals for tissue thermal relaxation, which can provide both efficient cutting and greater patient comfort with less anesthetic.

Patient Comfort

Heat, vibration and pressure are the primary causes of pain associated with the use of the traditional dental instruments. Since cutting soft tissues (teeth and gums) with the Biolase® does not generate heat, vibration or pressure, many dental procedures can be performed with fewer shots, less need for anesthesia, less use of the scalpel and fewer numb lips! Using the Biolase® for gum procedures reduces bleeding, post-operative pain, swelling and the need for pain medication in many cases.

Less Bleeding & Swelling

Due to its conservative, gentle cutting action and coagulating capabilities, the Biolase® performs many soft tissue (gum) procedures with little or no bleeding and less post-op swelling.

Fewer Dental Visits

Since laser driven dentistry enables accelerated healing a course of dental treatment can be completed more rapidly. This technology also gives trained Biolase® dentists the ability to perform gum procedures that were previously referred to specialists.
